Honeysuckle Events was born from a love of nature and passion for flowers. "Honeysuckle" is a nod to growing up in Virginia, spending summers running barefoot in the sunlight, stopping to taste the sweet nectar of what life has to offer. Your wedding day is one of these sweet "Honeysuckle" moments in life.A moment so perfect that you want to stand still in time so that you can absorb every bit of magic and feel every ounce of love that surrounds you. With flowers, we create an atmosphere that evokes emotion. It's an experience for your guests; one they can see, touch, smell and above all, FEEL. We create beautiful "Honeysuckle" moments through floral design from the mountains of Virginia to the coast of North Carolina. Shelley grew up in Bedford, Virginia at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She has always been a lover of nature and grew up taking long walks in the woods, collecting moss, acorns, turtle shells, deer antlers and anything else that she could carry. Shelley went on to study Biology at Longwood University and made her first trip to the Outer Banks during college. She made the move after college and now considers the Outer Banks as much her home as Virginia. Shelley traded in the walks in the woods for long walks on the beach searching for shells, driftwood, and seaglass. She spends her days with her Yorkies, Winston and Weezie, who are by her side (or at her feet) as she designs all her proposals or works in her garden. She revives herself with hot yoga and whimsy warrior classes and loves a glass of red wine at the end of the day as much as she loves that cup of coffee in the morning. The perfect summer day would be spent reading a good book with her toes in the sand. In her wedding downtime, she renews her inspiration and fills her soul with travel. She loves an adventure and and is obsessed with Arizona and Utah. Her most notable hike to date is hiking The Grand Canyon Rim to Rim!
