Property Description

Old style hotel. Nice clean rooms. Perfect. Charming. Staff was great and the bar had excellent food. This is a hotel with a cool vibe staff is great and the room is immaculate. The hotel is in a good location because its near downtown and they offer shuttle bus service to all the hot spots in the downtown area. Connie at the desk was also helpful with directions to locations out of downtown area. She was so informative with finding breakfast locations to try. The rooms are a nice size and have been remodeled. The bartender makes nice drive if you're a drinker. Connie at front desk was very helpful with my needs. Connie helped me with local directions and after I checked out I forget something in room she had to go back to room to let me in and help locate my lost item. Connie also gave me some history of the hotel. Connie is very friendly and helpful. She will make you want to come back because of her friendliness! The hotel is very clean and located downtown. The staff is the best! Connie would have you smiling and laughing. Location is three minutes from expressway and just off Milwaukee University's campus. There is a shuttle at hotel that will take and pick you up anywhere within five miles. Hotel also has a manager's special at the bar! I love the size of the room! Customer service was great in the bar, at check out and shuttle. The Ambassador Hotel has been a fixture on the west side of downtown Milwaukee for nearly eighty years. Designed in 1927, the structure boasted many of the hallmarks of Art Deco design. Its gleaming marble floors, stylized sconces, bronze elevator doors and ornate plasterwork made the hotel a favorite spot for society gatherings. Purchased in 1995 by an alumnus of nearby Marquette University, a restoration over the next decade revamped the hotel. Rooms were reconfigured to allow for more spacious accommodations and gleaming new bathrooms were installed. Dropped ceilings and drywall were removed to reveal the intricate details and archways, along with vintage radios. The Ambassador Hotel's ambitious effort has served as a cornerstone in the rebirth of the surrounding neighborhood and its bold rooftop sign once again beckons guests to enjoy a true Milwaukee legend.
