About

Our winery is available for your next special event! Our space is perfect for wedding ceremonies, corporate functions, class reunions and other special occasions. We renovated the historic Daily Drover Telegram Newspaper Building in the Stockyards District of Kansas City’s West Bottoms. Built in 1909, this building served as the production facility and newsroom to the news publication for the livestock industry. Our space consists of a tasting room, mezzanine, barrel room and patio. See below for pricing information and details on renting the entire winery or individual rooms. Amigoni Urban Winery produces small lots of dry handcrafted wines in the Stockyards District of Kansas City’s Historic West Bottoms. We focus on traditional European grape varietals, like Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Viognier, while experimenting with some lesser known varietals. Our locally made wines are produced from grapes grown from the West Coast. Our Winery was established in 2006 when Michael Amigoni decided to take his home winemaking hobby to the next level. After planting Cabernet Franc vines in his backyard in Leawood, Kansas, he and his wife, Kerry, purchased land in Centerview, Missouri. For more than two decades the Amigoni Vineyards served as a classroom for Michael while he developed as a winemaker. The first tasting room for Amigoni was located in the Livestock Exchange Building and production started at around 300 cases. In 2011 renovations began on our current tasting room, located in the Daily Drover Telegram Building, across the street from the original spot. In May of 2012 renovations were completed and we opened our tasting room with an attached event space. Amigoni has now expanded production to 5,000 cases annually. Because of this growth we look solely to our West Coast partners for quality vinifera grapes. With these relationships we are able to utilize grapes like Cinsaut, Barbera, Sangiovese and Tempranillo. Whole cluster fruit arrives at our production facility in the West Bottoms where it is crushed, pressed, fermented, barrel-aged and bottled.
