Kevin grew up in Northern California and still has deep family roots in the Sonoma, Napa, and Lake County regions. Lisa’s ancestors (the Amsler family) were the founders and settlers of Cat Spring and Millheim, Texas. Just as a family is united in love and becomes one flesh in Genesis 2:24, so too the Amsler Hills wines are blended into one bottle using grapes from both of our ancestral familial regions. We make wine that we love to drink, so if it doesn’t fit your palate that’s OK – we will just drink it all ourselves! The winery sits on 80 acres of historic Amsler family land dating back to the 1840's. Six generations have cultivated this land as it passed through five of those generations via the strong women of the Amsler, Hillbolt, Gross, Winkel, and now Lange families. The rolling hills of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush provide for stunning views to the west. This is the perfect setting for your outdoor wedding or private party! We make six estate wines ranging from a very dry white Blanc Du Bois to a sweet Texas Red - Alma's Grape Jelly. In between these options you will find the flavorful Bluebonnet Blend white picnic wine, a robust Tres Amigos Red Blend, our signature wine - the Castilleja Rose blend - and a port style Albert's Moonshine. We also offer five "just for fun" wines including two sparkling options and three flavored wines - The Last Straw, Peach Crisp, and our one-of-a-kind Pickled Habanero.
