About

Golf writers, historians and loyalists agree that there is no other golf course in the region, country or world quite like it. Designed by Jack Fleming, who was superintendent of San Francisco golf course and an early protege of Dr. Alister MacKenzie while he built Cypress Point Golf Club, this full length nine-holer has captured and broken the hearts of many a golfer for decades. Gleneagles GC has quietly catered to the most diverse golfing community in the world: San Francisco mayors and ditch diggers,  country club members, "Joe/Jane" muni and high school teams.  Both high handicappers and scratch players alike come here to test themselves on the challenging contours that make us all equal and humbled. Established in 1962 to much pomp and circumstance,  Gleneagles GC continues the tradition with the renovation of all nine greens with bentgrass (2010),  the same grass varietal used by The Olympic Club, TPC Harding Park and most private clubs. While we strive to offer the best golf course possible, Gleneagles is a small, community based operation having a fraction of the resources of its sister municipal courses. Regardless, affordable rates, fast play and faster greens have been hallmarks for over six decades and it is home to one of the finest 19th Holes in all the golf kingdom, a place where old world hospitality meets a new generation of golfer every day.
