About

Glover Park has an exciting and rich history to complement the esteemed northwest Washington D.C. neighborhood that it is today. During the Civil War, the Union Army maintained a signal station and training camp within what would become Glover Park. Much of the housing development seen today began construction in the late 1800s, including the Hall Place row houses. The neighborhood had another surge of development in the 1940s when it experienced a flood of government workers that moved to the city for the war efforts. This surge helped develop what is the western end of the Glover Park neighborhood today. New construction began in the late 1970s and early 1980s and much-needed renovations to many of the older apartment buildings.  Today, Glover Park is home to several embassies and is located near many notable landmarks like the National Mall, Smithsonian National Zoo, the Washington Monument, and the White House. Nestled within Glover Park’s business district stands the Glover Park Hotel. Known as the Savoy Suites until 2016, the Glover Park Hotel is a unique, luxury hotel in the heart of Northwest DC.  The Glover Park Hotel commonly welcomes tourists visiting the nation’s capital and provides over 150 amenities to guests. In addition, the hotel offers exceptional comfort and extraordinary Italian cuisine at the on-site restaurant Glover Park Grill.
