About

Music Theater Heritage (MTH) was founded in 1997 by George Harter as a vehicle to syndicate his award-winning radio show, “A Night on the Town.” In 2003 MTH began producing live shows on a loading dock at the historic Belger Arts Center in downtown Kansas City. In 2007 Crown Center approached MTH about producing shows in its newly constructed, 240 seat theater. Today MTH operates as a fully professional performing arts center, focusing on music, theater, and the heritage of both. MTH welcomes nearly 50,000 people annually to Crown Center and houses three theatrical stages, production facilities, two studio spaces, and two public lobbies. We have housed such events as KCPL conferences, the Dev Ops conference, and the Executive Folk Alliance conference. Rent the entire space, and we can provide you with catering, full bar service, three different presentation or performance spaces, and enough space to hold and spread out over 400 people. Because of our proximity inside Crown Center, the whole world is at your fingertips with countless shops, restaurants, and the Kansas City nightlife. Music Theater Heritage is a producing company located at Crown Center. MTH operates three professional performance venues. Our Main Stage and Grand Theater are large capacity venues available for long-term theatrical productions, while our Ruby Room is an excellent 130 seat art deco music hall available for nightly or long-term rental. Our rental packages vary by venue, but all include full ticketing and front of house services for your performance, and a full bar and lobby. Patrons receive free covered parking. MTH has created a culture of exceptional guest service and is committed to providing a fun, unique and professional experience for your event.
