Facilities and Capacity
Tucked away in the center of William B. Umstead State Park, the Pavilion at the Angus Barn is a merry, hidden Raleigh jewel that accommodates a wide variety of wedding party sizes, ranging from 70 up to 400 guests. This venue, a dark wood structure surrounded by verdant greenery, has simplistic rustic charm with the added merit of historic flair. The pavilion itself is constructed from timbers dating back to the Civil War era, when William T. Sherman marched through Raleigh. The pavilion and venue also features flagstones from the original Fayetteville Street. Couples can enjoy either an indoor or outdoor ceremony, both of which offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding trees and the nearby lake. When strung with twinkling lights, the inside of the pavilion looks like something out of a fairy tale. The overhead natural wood beams, paneled wood walls, and old-fashioned stone chimney and hearth likewise create a magical effect, one full of romance, intimacy, and coziness. The Pavilion also comes with an immaculate get-ready room, which includes a warm gold, cream, and dark wood aesthetic. Get ready in front of an old-fashioned vanity beneath a small crystal chandelier for vintage charm. Couples who are more outdoorsy and less impressed by the flashiness of indoor amenities can enjoy a nearby firepit, perfect for casual socializing during the reception or wrapping up your big day huddled close to friends and family. Outdoor ceremonies can be held among the trees or on the stone patio beneath clear skies.
