The croquet lawn in Stern Grove at 19th Avenue and Wawona Street is home to the San Francisco Croquet Club. The SFCC was organized to support the development and promotion of the various forms of croquet regionally and nationally. Low annual dues entitle members to the use of club equipment and access to free classes. We play all the major sports versions of the game: Golf Croquet, Association Rules Croquet and USCA (American) Rules Croquet. Visitors are encoraged and, indeed, we have welcomed players from all over the world.
The San Francisco Croquet Club was founded in 1981 and was the first U.S. Croquet Association club in Northern California. It quickly became a widely recognized model for the development of public and membership programs and event formats. As with the Oakland Croquet Club, it's "sister" club across the Bay, the SFCC is a member of the United States Croquet Association. Both clubs support the USCA and its mission to popularize the sport of croquet both nationally and internationally.
