As parents of four kids who are very close in age, it was important and sometimes imperative to get out of the house to explore and reset our attitudes. Being in nature and allowing the kids to explore and wander solved most problems we found. All of a sudden sibling rivalry was replaced with childhood wonder and giggles. We wanted to provide a community place where families felt comfortable bringing their kids, where they didn't need to feel like they had to hover, where kids played, and where parents could relax on a tree swing or pick a bouquet to re-energize.
