Welcome! You have just found Oakland’s best kept secret. The Terrace Room is known to many as a little gem, tucked inside The Lake Merritt Hotel with panoramic views of the mesmerizing Lake Merritt. The beautiful, Art Deco building was built in 1927. Then it was a trendy hot spot, featuring Big Bands and dancing, including Count Basie. Today, we specialize in weddings, but host other celebrations as well. Recently, we won Best Wedding Venue by the East Bay Express in 2023.
We are an all-inclusive venue with menus that include an upscale Californian cuisine. We offer a variety of menus and pricing for varying budget and guest count needs.
Our services include private access to the venue, wedding ceremonies, receptions, tables, Chiavari chairs, glassware, flatware, food, beverages, staff, linens, and an in-house PA system for full room rentals.
The Terrace Room is available for events seven days per week. Although we specialize in weddings, we also accommodate all kinds of events such as Mitzvahs, Holiday Parties, Birthdays, Baby Showers, Retirements, Non-Profit Events, Fundraisers, Business Events, and more!
